Each year I set myself a daily challenge - whether it be journaling, photography or, like 2016's challenge, filming. In the past I've both succeeded and failed in keeping up with the challenges, and I'm happy to say that I managed to complete this year's challenge! Each day I recorded a one-second video, and have now compiled them together to create this snapshot of my year. I think the video perfectly reflects 2016. It shows both the crazy events such as turning 18, graduating from school and going overseas for the first time, and also the more quiet and relaxed times that I spent reading, cooking, studying (well, maybe that wasn't so relaxing) and watching the sunset.
I'm so glad that I documented my year this way, I just know it's going to be so great looking back at in the future. I kept a journal two years ago and I love reading about my past worries and goals, it always gives me much-needed perspective and reminds me of things I might have forgotten. In 2017 I'm going to be keeping a daily journal again, but instead of just recounting moments from the day, I'm going to be focusing on improving the quality and style of my writing.
Here's to 2017 - let's hope it doesn't suck as much as 2016 did (I literally can't even describe the relief I felt when it ended) xx
